Dale is my brother. Our parents came to California during the great dustbowl migration of the '30s. Our father had been raised on a farm in Texas and after many years of city life in California, he returned to farming in 1948 near Porterville, a community in the San Joaquin Valley.
He came from an era when children were expected to work on the farm. My brother Dale was eight, Gene was eleven, and I was barely a year old. Guess who got to do the work.
We moved off the farm and into Porterville where our father built homes.
Dale continued with the building business. He and his family moved to Morro Bay in 1969 to build houses on the coast.
He recently finished a fabulous home in Morro Bay on a half-acre with panoramic ocean views. It even has a "Gone With the Wind" staircase and an elevator. The price it sold for set a record for Morro Bay.
He also runs Cayucos Liquor which he bought in 1980.
As if building and being a merchant isn't enough, Dale has a long record of community service. He is a long time Rotarian and has served two terms as a Morro Bay Planning Commissioner. In 1984, he was elected Mayor of Morro Bay.
After I opened Bayshore Realty, Dale decided to ease up with his other businesses and join us. He loves it.
Come on in and talk to Dale. No one has a better understanding of real estate and building on the Central Coast.
Dale's cell phone number is 805- 772-5636, or call toll free 888-401-0800 Ext. 213
