The people of Cayucos care about each other and your hosts, Ian and Della, care about you and want you to have the best vacation of your life.
Their home is located on Pacific Ave, directly across the street from the Pacific Ocean. They want you to relax and enjoy the moment. If you feel like sleeping-in, go right ahead. The day will wait for you in Cayucos. Have your coffee and some great conversation and you will appreciate the efforts of Ian and Della as you realize they have put together the perfect beach vacation home. The rooms are spacious and the large kitchen, dining area and living room are all open to each other and allow the whole group of family and friends to meet together and plan the day.
Maybe everyone will take a walk to one of the nearby public stairways and to down to the beach. Be sure to take off your shoes when you get to the sand. A bad day with sand between your toes is better than the best day of work.
As you explore the tidepools, rocks, and sand, don't be surprised if you don't find yourself all the way up the beach to the Cayucos Pier. If you do, be sure to walk out to the end of it. The view, the sea-air, the waves, and birds are simple incredible. Don't forget to pack a wallet so you can buy your loved ones some precious keepsakes at one of the great gift shops in downtown Cayucos and, of course, you will want to take advantage of some of the best restaurants in the world. If you had a hotdog at Duckys yesterday, maybe today will be the time to sit in the English country garden in the mists of luscious stands of flowers and vines at Hoppes gourmet restaurant.
Maybe you have been hearing about Hearst Castle so much over your life that seeing it would be redundant. After all, you probably saw it on Discovery Channel. Well, Ian and Della swear to you that will be be thrilled when you see the Castle in person. Be sure to take in an IMAX movie while you are there. If you are lucky enough to see the ghost of old William Randolph Hearst, we're sure he was telling you to be sure to go up the coast a little further and view the gigantic Elephant Seals on one the the beaches his family just sold to the State.
The Elephant Seals were almost extinct but now they cover huge swathes of sand in quivering masses of blubber as they sun bath, battle for harems, give birth, and everything in between. Don't miss it.
